June Jordan Artwork

June Jordan

June Jordan is an artist who combines talents in ceramics and painting. Early on, clay had more fascination for her and so she received her BFA and MFA degrees from the University of Georgia with a major in ceramics. In addition, she was privileged to study with the world renown potter, Marguerite Wildenhain at Guerneville, California.

In the late eighties, Jordan returned to painting. Painting from life, she considers herself to be a representational painter. She uses an abstract approach to describe shapes and forms with vivid colors, a good value range and strong composition. She works mostly from figures, the landscape and interiors. She continues to work at defining her own personal style.

Additional paintings and pottery are on view at the Packing Shed Gallery in Washington, Virginia and at the Art League's Bin Gallery, Torpedo Factory, Alexandria, Virginia.
