Friends?
We are:
A group of over 100 families, businesses, and clubs from Front Royal-Warren County
interested in working together to help meet the literary needs of the community.
A non-profit, independent organization acting as a working partner with the Library
Director to bring special programs to all age groups.
An organization that has been in existence for three years with affiliation to
Friends Of Libraries U.S.A. and Virginia.
Our Mission is:
To support the aims of the Library Board of Trustees.
To foster a close relationship between the LIBRARY and the citizens of
Front Royal-Warren County.
To promote a knowledge of the functions, resources, services, and needs of the
LIBRARY.
To encourage use of the LIBRARY and its programs that contribute to literacy and to
cultural opportunities in the community.
To advocate for adequate facilities/equipment for the LIBRARY.
This Past Year the Friends have:
Provided Volunteer assistance... weekly operations, book sales.
Funded LIBRARY activities... Children's Theatre IV, Dick and Jane Exhibit.
Promoted the LIBRARY through... public speaker series, bi-weekly newspaper articles
Had a supportive presence at funding request meetings with local officials.
Contributed in excess of $3,000... public access to the Internet, automation of
Library's operating system.
