General Information

The Shenandoah County Republican Committee is the governing body for Republican Party activities in Shenandoah County, Virginia.  Its Executive Committee is comprised of a Chairman, three Vice-Chairmen, a Secretary, a Treasurer, and a Finance Chairman.  The remainder of the Committee is comprised of Precinct Chairmen from each of the County's fifteen precincts as well as other precinct representatives.  The Committee also contains six District chairmen and six "at-large" members who are elected on a county-wide basis.  All Republican elected officials are also "ex-officio" (by virtue of their office) members of our Committee.

The authority of the Committee to oversee Republican activities in the County derives from the Republican Party of Virginia.  The Committee is governed by the Plan of Organization of the Republican Party of Virginia as well as the by-laws previously enacted by the Committee.  Our ideological principles are derived in large part from those stated in the The Republican Oath and the  Virginia Republican Creed.

The County Committee is responsible for determining the method of nomination of local Republican candidates and for holding quarterly meetings to discuss and decide such matters as fundraising and "grass roots" campaign-related activities.  We also have several standing committees to assist in delegating responsibilities for our needs.  Those committees are Fundraising, Activities, Events, Public Relations, and Volunteerism.

Our Committee typically meets in the Circuit Courtroom of the Shenandoah County Courthouse at least once every quarter of the year.

If you would like to become involved in the Shenandoah County Republican Committee or any of its standing committees, please contact us by going to our "Contact Us" page.
