Fly Fishing the Shenandoah Valley

Virginia's beautiful Shenandoah Valley offers some of the best fly fishing opportunities on the east coast. Virginia boasts over 3200 miles of native trout waters (2nd in the East). The Blue Ridge mountains contain legendary trout streams. The Shenandoah River is one the premier Smallmouth Bass fisheries anywhere. Below is an early morning scene on the South Fork of the Shenandoah.

Shenandoah in Summer

Current Fishing Conditions: - April 2003 Spring Conditions with high water levels. Winter snows and spring rains have all mountain streams full and flowing nicely and the Shenandoah is very high now but should be in prime condition is a couple of weeks for the Spring Spawn. The Mountain streams are fishing very well for this time of year.

Fishbar from Honkworm - The best fish humor on the web. You will find yourself saying, "Been there, done that, and said that." Please do not be disturbed by the irrevelance of it. Remember they are only fish. Enjoy - there is even a special must see XMAS movie.
